Horizon dipped his paw back into the water, making the rippling waves distort their facades. He hoped that what drove her away from home hadn’t been disgrace, but he doubted it. Her pristine fur and mannerly behaviour suggested she had been forced against her own will or driven away by a darker presence. But Horizon pushed away his own thoughts opening his mind to hers.
