Nakato
nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky |
Winter had come with all its chilly glory. In one night, the entire plains had been covered in a thick, white layer of snow and frost. The wolves who called Asteraia home were in a fit of love and lust, as each wolf was claimed by the heat of passion that came with the colder months. Not even Nakato could resist. The male, Zeus, had come when she had been at her weakest. He spoke kindly to her, he showed her his might and perfect genes. He took her for that one night and then left her to return home with her head held low in shame and fear. Even now, Nakato knew she was pregnant. She could sense the life growing within her, though she had only just barely started to show. To many others, it may look like she had added some fluff or fat to her body, but that would change soon. Soon, everyone would know of her crime and she worried for the safety of her pups. For a wolf not of alpha blood to give birth was the worst thing that could happen. In the healers old pack, it would mean death for her pups. Though she wasn’t sure how things played out in Moladion, she kept having nightmares of her babies hanging lifelessly from Tobias’ jaws. This was not the time to dwell on worries and fears. The Monster had approached her a few days ago to let her know that another healer from an allied pack would be coming here to train with Nakato. Of course, the druid accepted the task willingly. She would do anything for Tick Tock and if building alliances with other packs was needed, she would do it in a heartbeat. Still new to Moladion, the bob-tailed wolfess knew next to nothing about the other wolf packs that surrounded the land. Only leaving the safety of Asteraia when she needed to be alone, the girl only moved about in areas close to her home. Ever since her kidnapping… No, it was not the time for that. Shaking her fur, the healer left her warm den full of herbs just in time to hear the howl meant for her. Lifting her dark muzzle, she answered the call with her own song and trotted the borders. It had taken her longer to get there then she realized. Though she was not big yet, her body was giving what energy she could spare to the development of her unborn pups. What had started out as a quick gait had ended as a slow walk. Panting heavily, Nakato had to rest a little ways from the border. She could easily see the wolf waiting, even smell the rich pine scent blended in her fur. Then, when she could finally move again, she finished the rest of the trek. Not knowing much about politics made it easy for her to greet the stranger with a warm smile and a show of kindness. As far as first appearances went, she instantly liked the beautiful girl and hoped that they could both learn from each other. Taking a moment to catch her breath, Nakato bowed her head and said in a pleasant voice, ”Welcome to Asteraia! I am Nakato, Frankenstein of the plains. You must be the wolfess the Monster told me about. Please, come with me. Allow me to take you to my den where it is a bit warmer. I have many herbs there we can look at together. I am looking forward to this and I hope we can both learn something today.” |
