Patiently she waited for time and her Frankenstein’s handiwork to begin healing her hock. Winter was nearly over and already she was capable of moving around a whole lot more, pleased to know that she was slowly becoming more mobile. Being unable to move around for a few weeks made her restless, annoyed, and highly irritated. There were things as Alpha that she needed to do and Jaidah had kept her from doing such things. Winter had come and she should have gone on the pack hunt, but thanks to her hock injury she would have only slowed the hunters down. Come Spring she would be ready once more, strong enough to take on any challenger, but she had a suspicion that it would be the one-eyed failure once more. One would think that repeating the same thing when failure was the result would deter one from trying such a thing again, but not everyone was sensible to recognize defeat...it was sad really.
Today she was not focused on the upcoming challenge once more from Jaidah. No, her attention was filling herself with food with a kill she had done. Members of her pack had come to her lair to provide her with pieces of their food, even her own children came proudly baring gifts, even though she secretly appreciated the kindness – she felt weak. Weakness was not something she tolerated in others, and never in herself, and she vowed that when she was better she would no longer accept their tithes, rather, she would get her own food or starve trying. Dark paws were placed carefully within the pristine white snow as the Monster silently searches for her next meal. Distracted by the loud roar in the distant her dial snapped upwards as her dark eyes widen.
The fields were infamous to hold monsters, but this was no canine beast that made warning sound. Mountain lions were known to lurk around and she used them for sparring lessons for her pupil Cuirass. Standing quietly she waited, her heart pounding wondering if one of her members was in trouble, but with no bark or howl for help Tick Tock was unsure with what to do. She could run towards the feline’s sound, but her body was still mending and exhausting it too quickly wouldn’t do her any good. Black lips pulled back in a frustrated snarl and right as she was about to howl if someone was in trouble, her ears caught the sound of someone coming in her direction – and fast. Thick ebony and grey fur stood on end as she began to turn her body to face the oncoming individual unsure if perhaps the unknown individual was a threat. But her form would relax slightly with a smaller, younger, brown looking canine stopped a few yards away within the clearing. Silently she moved in that wolf’s direction wondering if this was the reason why the mountain lion had roared. As the brown hued wolf hunkered down on the ground in a submissive manner, instantly her instincts kicked in, causing her thick fur to stand on end and her dial to raise higher – pleased.
Her dark shadow would slowly appear upon the ground as her intimidating form got closer and closer to the trespasser. Sapphire eyes narrowed upon the young pup and when she was only a few feet away, Tick Tock would release a soft growl. It was not a challenge to the trespasser nor was it intended to frighten. Rather it was meant to be a greeting of sorts, allowing the Monster to begin assessing her new prey, though would she be her next meal...it was hard to tell.
Better impressive the Monster if you want to live.
