The Grotto
Disaster has struck!
|
The thunder crashes and the lightening leads my way as I jog through the turrents of rain outside of the grotto. This is where I've decided to take refuge, at least for now. Perhaps I'll keep moving but the free lands always have plenty of prey. In this case, prey is whatever crosses my path, whether it be rabbit or groundhog or wolf. I've completely become unhinged with Atania no longer around to keep me calm. I find an entrance into the caverns and slip right in, the water having already drenched my coat, leaving wet trails in my wake as I make my way deep into the darkness. It's probably managed to wash most of the blood from my coat, not that anyone could see it in this darkness. They would still be able to smell the smell of old blood though. I lick my lips as I go further into the caverns, pulled by voices now. As i peek around a corner, I see a group of wolves trying to stay out of the rain. My preference so far has been lone females, seeing only the absence of Atania when I look at them and it pulls forth my rage. But this is a large number and I was never a fool, even in my insanity. The female making eyes at a younger male enrages me the most since her teasing gaze reminds me too much of the sister and lover I lost forever. My mind is fuzzy with emotion right now so I step out where they can see me, aware that I must look a mess but I don't care. My fur is drench and sticking my body. My eyes gold and blazing and wild. My fur is matted and unkempt. My eyes are glued to the female from before (Nox), my lips already curling back in a silent snarl as I grumble the words. "She's gone." Not that they would know what I'm talking about or anything. Maybe I can intimidate them enough to scatter them or something so I can pick them off one by one.
