My S
Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

She moves across the green fields with a power and grace unmatched. Her fur of black fading to russet to gold reflected the sun well, and gave definition to her muscular form. Her eyes were sharp like defined lightning, colored in violet and clouded in gold. Her head was high as she looked, ears a top her head alert. Her nose tasted the air, searching for signals that do indeed come through the air. Prey. Her nose drops to the ground, inhaling the scent of boar and piglets through prints and dung.

Her face is fierce and wild as she hones in, her black paws carrying her through the grass. The scents were still strong and fresh. She picked up her pace, only to slow once more and lower herself into a crouch in the tall grass. She stood perfectly still, ears pinning slightly on her head as her eyes catch the movement of brown not too far. Her rumbling stomach drove her forward. She was surprisingly quiet as she maneuvered closer to the boar, knowing that the piglets must be near.

She pauses completely when she notices that the boar turns around. She keeps herself low and still, feeling her muscles tense as she waits. The boar and the piglets turn around. They are in betweem Phaedra and the water, but still a good distance from the water itself. She knew this would be an opportunity to nab one of the younger piglets. They were still squeakers, and small enough to be grabbed with her powerful jaws. With great patience she waited, until they slowly crossed in between Phaedra and the water. The mother boar led the way as a piglet fell behind. Her eyes dash to the mother, who continued forward, and then back to the piglet. It was risky. There was only a few good feet between the piglet and the mother- but if Phaedra can get to the water where the mother would have to swim, then Phaedra would have the advantage.

With a sudden burst the woman broke through the grass. Teeth came down upon the piglet, grasping it on the nape one in swoop and bolting towards the water. She heard the mother cry out and follow in a rage. Phaedra did not turn back even as she felt the piglet wiggle and scream. Phaedra pushes past grass, breaking to the sand as she sees another laying halfway in the water. She reacts immediately, adjusting her course to the left of the dark creature- a wolf she comes to realize, but she was unable to think of the wolf right now as she makes a brilliant leap into the water. She was built like her father, and her hind legs were powerful enough to propel her forward and splash into the water. She makes another leap as her feet down the bottom of the lake, until she finally must swim. She does not know how close the boar is, she only hears it in the water behind her- but she knows it surely will have to give up to protect the other piglets from the other wolf on the shore. She turns her head with piglet in her mouth, watching for a moment as she knows she is safe, although soaked, with her eyes flickering to the other wolf. She assesses if he will be a threat to her meal as she clenches her jaws harder, feeling the life of the piglet slowly draining away as she keeps the head submerged in the water.
