Her mind had wandered on and off for the past year. There was something surprisingly captivating that made the young girl halt suddenly in her movements and think back to that day in Diveen. That boy and that moment. She had no answers. ‘Border patrol’ had become a task with her nose the ground, trying to find any glimpse of the stranger that seemed to have vanished, the one she yearned to find again. Every so often she felt a pull to the north. Somehow she knew the forests were where she wanted to be. It was not until winter that the pull became unbearable. Finally, she tore off through the glades to follow a feeling she knew was unexplained.
The small tri-colored form poked through the snow and dived over trenches filled with ice and snow. Her nose did not even brush the ground as she followed the paths she knew she needed to take. With every step, her forested eyes narrowed into slits. Closer and closer she approached until finally she saw his body relaxed in the snow of the riverside.
You! Her voice snarled angrily as she charged after him. You just left me without anything! You did not tell me who you are, where you come from, your name or any of that shit! The girl sat down next to him (or on him, depending) and bared her teeth. How the hell am I supposed to find you when I don’t even know your name? Her eyes locked onto him and through the accusing gaze there was a glimmer of hurt. There was something between them and he had given her nothing for her to follow him on. No answers or anything. What. The. Hell. Big Wolf may or may not have approved of her use of language. But Big Wolf was not here, so she could say what she wanted.
