aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Had it truly been a year to this day? Had time truly slipped beneath her nose and ran away from her? It surely had because here she was, remembering like it was only yesterday that Kalgalath had saved her from the gripping tide of the lakeside waves. Or it was like yesterday that they had pronounced their love and consummated their union as one. And even more recent than all was the memory of carrying Vladimir and Castiel to term and birthing her first litter of pups. All of it seemed too recent and too new of a memory to have been all those months ago. The Queen of Aurora Borealis was stumped as to how time had gotten away from her so quickly and easily, because before she had met her King nothing could seem to move the day from one to the next. But when Kalgalath had saved her life well she couldn’t seem to find any time in the day that seemed to be long enough. A full day seemed to be wasted in some cases and there seemed to be no way to make up for it. Every second she spent away from her lover was an eternity but each day spent in his presence felt only like second. It just didn’t make sense to the ashen Queen.

Sebring had been latent and quiet as of late, quietly staying to herself and roaming around with Kalgalath when she felt the pups did not need her. The pups were not yet adults nor even teenagers, but they were still expressing their freedom as they ran about the packlands playing with Seraphina. The mother did not mind this, but she felt somewhat useless sometimes, as if her pups did not need her any longer. They were not nursing any longer and were beginning to feed on actual meat. And Sebring mused it would not be long until her mate called a pack hunt to show the boys how to hunt for themselves. Though it would be awhile before they actually mastered the art. Sebring herself was not the best hunter, but she could find herself some prey if need be. Instead the Queen had taken to learning the art of healing from their locale healer Hellene. The sassy and sometimes off putting residential healer, that everyone so dearly loved.

Hellene was somewhat abrasive in her language, but she had always shown kindness to Sebring and was nothing but patient with her. She was direct and made clear what she wanted done and Sebring had learned a lot thus far and had even started her own herb garden with the help of Hellene. That had been while the mother of two had been pregnant. The herb garden had grown flush through summer and still remained flush with plants that could hold their own in the cooling temperatures and frosty mornings. But as the Queen sat there tending to the garden she heard distinct and handsome call ring out across the land.

Kalgalath.

The King was calling forth all who wanted to join in a hunt and the Queen thought it would do her good to get out. So after finishing up her garden duties Sebring turned and ran to the call of her mate. And when she arrived she was not surprised to see that she had been beaten in arriving. Chenzii, the Beta of Aurora, had already arrived and begun chatting with Kal. Not wanting to fully interrupt their conversation she padded up and waited for a break in the chat before gently nuzzling her mate, Hello my dear. And then in turn looking to the onyx female, It’s good to see you again Chenzii, how’ve you been doing?
