So it ever was. So will it always be. Such is the nature of evil.
There is nothing she could do to stop him. It was not in her bones, in the very fabric of her being. Fate had not woven a thread against Underidge in his time on this earth and they had been woven together. Where the edge frays is where the end meets but his continues. A deeper, eldritch part of him understands that this cracking in her veneer is a final thing. It cannot be changed as it once was. Once he had pinned her down, he had driven it out of her with sly words and a calm assurance, and now she had returned to that past. He was left with the unsettling sense that not all was within his control anymore. Power that had been so heavily gained was fluid and slipped between his paws.
She slipped between his paws.
She ignores him and it drives a spike within him, mounting his hunger and his fear. If there is one thing that Underidge has never truly felt it was fear. In this moment it all begins to shift and change. The collected power within him slips, just a fraction, because she is part of him. In all those years that he had insinuated himself within her she had done the same to him; she was as piece of him and she was turning against him. Rebelling.
For what?
Family! It makes his lips turn in a silent snarl as he stalks her before striking because he can do no less but also no more. He wants to bite her but Paravana is above that - she is his mate. Perhaps he feels love unlike others and yet she is something to him. Dear and cherished in a way that Underidge cannot understand, in a way that is abnormal. She crashes to the ground and he stands, his chest heaving, his eerie eyes staring down at her. But she doesn't LOOK. She won't LOOK at him.
She struggles to stand and he growls low, a threatening growl.
"Stay down!" He hisses, his voice taking on a loud cadence. Up she goes and she struggles forward, away from him. He waits for a moment, staring at the spot she had fallen and feeling disbelief. Then he turns again and runs at her, ears flat, slamming into her again.
"I SAID STOP!" It is unlike him to raise his voice but he does. He screams at her because something in him shatters. She is his and that has never been questioned so why now? Why now would she leave him?
