Sometimes, it was just nice to lay in a field and watch life go by. Starfall is a male of fur most black. His forehead was speckled in white, like stars across the night sky. Like on this night. The moon was barely a sliver in the sky. He had been here all day. Watched the grass flow in the wind. Watched the clouds ebb in and out of the blue sky. Watched as the sun fell and the world turned into darkness and stars.
He felt he was much the watcher of his own life recently. Things had seemed to look up, only to drag him down to a place he had not really been before. He felt more alone, but that is exactly why he was here in the open, grassy field among the stars. His eyes of light blue, yellow, and pink gaze across the beauty of the night, wondering if he could see his mother's smiling face upon him up there. He was determined to search all night. To find her once again. His mind traveled to his father, to Guardian his brother who was no where to be seen.
The wind gently tickled his fur and he found himself shaking his head. His opal eyes flickered away from the stars. He felt a heaviness to his eyes. That desire to close them. He sought to fight against it. He wanted to see the sun rise. It was a difficult thing though on this warm night. He was exhausted. Mentally, physically. His eyes faded in and out- and it was hard to tell if he was sleeping or awake at this point. It was a peaceful night. Quiet. The weather was pleasant. How could one not fall into the temptation of sleep?
