Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

BLOOD IS THICKER

senketsu
six - homeless - heartless - despoina's soul

He could hardly hear anything over the rushing of blood in his ears, but Koi's screamed words were not lost on him, nor the cougar. It gave him the opportunity that he needed, at least, to slip out from underneath the feline and sink his teeth into the fatty area near her shoulder. Senketsu aimed to rip and tear at the flesh there as much as he could before he was dislodged, crimson eyes flashing upwards to catch sight of the cougar's razor-sharp claws extending towards Koi's face. A savage snarl ripped from his throat, almost surprising him in its intensity, and only serving to make him bite down harder. His grip, however, could not hold forever and he felt it weaken when the cougar turned.

Distracted as he was by the potentiality of Koi being injured, he did not notice the feline's head snaking downwards and wrapping itself around his right hind leg. The crushing, excruciating pain came suddenly, and the snapping of bone was a sensation that made him want to throw up his breakfast. The adrenaline from the injury gave him the sudden strength and resilience to rip his leg from the cougar's grasp and throw himself to the ground a few feet away. Senketsu felt woozy, and the intense pain was causing his vision to blur and darken. Saliva pooled on the ground around his muzzle, his crimson eyes glazed and glossy from the pain and the shock.

There was a flash of gold from behind the cougar. In his pain-induced delirium, the wiry male thought it an angel, golden purity come to save them from a beast of the night. He looked for Koi, but he could not see her, only the tawny and horrible form of the cougar. Senketsu, then, made the terrible mistake of looking at his leg- it was quite clearly broken, the entire thing already swelling and almost visibly throbbing. The places where the cougar's fangs had set in were bleeding rather profusely, likely due to the increased bloodflow to the area due to the injury.

But as soon as he looked, it began to hurt- really hurt. A shudder passed through his body and he felt horribly cold for a spring evening. Senketsu gritted his teeth, a quiet, hushed groan of pain passing through his clenched jaw. He knew that the injury wasn't fatal, but he wondered vaguely if one could simply die of pain. "Onegai, gomen'nasai. Watashi ga nani o shita no ka, watashi o yurushitekudasai." The words were whispered, almost a prayer of sorts, though he did not know who he was praying to, or even what exactly he was praying for.
