Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Zelda

It was hard not to hear the howls of Pine’s victory, the happiness of wolves returning from the home they were forcibly cast from. Zelda was happy to have played a part regardless how small or large it might have been in creating that happiness. Protecting Pine had been a good decision, not trusting Aranck was another. The was no mourning his life, only celebration, though she did feel bad for the two sons she had kept sheltered here. She wondered how they felt, they didn’t seem to have much love or connection with their father at all. She never got to ask them how he was, if he was a good father, but given their not rush to leave she assumed that it must not have been the best life. She knew it might look bad to outsiders looking in, but there was nothing she could do there if they assumed she did it out of pure hatred. She really didn’t do it at all, her cousin did. Tepi chose his targets and Aranck didn’t seem to care. He hadn’t raised a paw at all to take them back… what did that say about him as a father? No there would be no guilt… that wolf did not deserve any more of her time or worry. It was over for him.

Her smile still touched her maw as she was greeted by her uncle. She was not as familar with him yet his features, how he looked and acted there was no arguing he was her mother’s brother. He didn’t seem to change at all from what she remembered, her tail waved lightly as he apologized for not meeting with her sooner and he was sure her father was proud of her. She wondered if maybe he had run into Lucero when he was out there wandering, but perhaps it wasn’t that so much as she was fairly certain he would be too. She was the princess he always treated her as in the short time they had been together.

”I am much better now that Iromar is under the rule of a new leader. Aranck… he was perhaps the most twisted wolf I have ever seen in my life. The world is much better without that kind of darkness tainting it.” She had no idea how he would reply, she knew her Grandfather might not wholly approve of her impassiveness, if not happiness to the fact the male was dead. Any other wolf, any other ruler she would feel a great loss for them, cry with them and mourn for disappearance of a kindred soul…. But him. He did not deserve such kindness and mercy. Not when he gave none to those around him. ”And do not worry about coming to me sooner, I have been wandering so much it’s more my fault than yours I am sure! Plus its your home, its not like you need my say so to be here.” She says cheerfully not missing a beat off her words regarding Aranck. Though she didn’t want to leave it out there much longer. There was still something she knew he wanted to help with, though he also wanted to help with Aranck that was over now.

”I heard from Colli you wanted to help with Aranck, I am sorry that I let Pine, who I kept safe here, finish up her duty to her home. I did what I could to avenge my sister in my own way, though his life won’t bring back hers… I am happy he cannot hurt anyone anymore.” She stated a frown touching her maw for a few seconds, though there was something else her grandfather had told her. This she still use help with, this situation was far more delicate than Aranck’s had ever been especially now. She hadn’t brought it up to anyone, as agreed with Alistair she wanted to leave it until she had the time to devote to doing something that was far more challenging than dealing with a tyrant. Zelda gave a pause for a moment before continuing, ”Colli also said you wanted to help find the one that poisoned Uncle Amoxtli.” She said though she didn’t say what she had learned just yet, it was more she wanted to see how serious he was about it, learn more about him. For of all of her family on her mother’s side her uncle Dexter was the one she knew the least about. She knew he deserved to give the justice less than she did in some ways, but she was a bit surprised at his drive for it. Of course Hyrule and her had looked, they had failed, but Alistair had picked up the trail. Now years later it felt strange to pick it up again, but she felt their family needed answers and she would get them.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
