Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

KRYPTO!one year - loner - no mate - no imprint

Once upon a time! No. No, no! Too old for a wolf like me. Not even the elder told stories like that anymore. In a distant land? Perhaps if we start with a question. Something like. Have you heard of the white adventurer? The wolf who crossed the lands in search of greatness, of not only a better life, but one full of dangers and new wonders.

That sounded much better for a start of my story. With a little rehearsal I can pull the whole story without pauses, so whoever is listening absorbs it quicker. That is for another time though, since my adventure just started. This is a much better start than that storm when I just walked out of my pack. Now that I think of it, that feeling comes back. A sadness. I could call it regret to some point. How did my mother react when she realized her son was missing? Without the comfort of my soft white fur in a big den we had for us. She liked to have me close so she always knew I am safe. Not that she protected me too much. No. I didn’t have her protection when some of the others picked on me for being an omega. When I bit them and hurt their legs and sides the pack punished me. I know that perhaps I overreacted, but not even telling them to leave me alone was the last drop. Mother tried to protect me and as always, they didn’t listen to her because of a lower position in the pack.

I don’t regret leaving the pack. But I regret not taking my mother with me, or even telling her goodbye before stepping out of those borders. She deserved so much more. For being kind and generous. For taking care of pups and showing them a new world while the alphas were too busy taking care of something else.

My form lowered and one paw extended to hold the fallen rabbit to keep it from sliding away as I sunk my teeth on it first and pulled a piece, eating it pretty quickly. Not that I had time to finish it before another wolf approached. I looked at her as she greeted me, stopping and not approaching too much. Wow, manners! And better! Not someone wanting to take my meal! Great! I had some work stealing it. She jokes and I grin as well, looking up at her and wagging my tail in the same friendly manner.

“Well thanks!! I know.” She can’t blame me for knowing myself anyway “Hah!! A queen of another pack! You have so many around here. These lands must be huge.”

I smiled as she continued, telling me of the pack name.

“I am Krypto… And I don’t have any fancy titles like yours for now. Wish I could tell you I am king of krypton. But that doesn’t even exist. So I am an adventurer. A great adventurer…” I chuckled myself at the mere thought of such land existing.

She must have pieced together one and two and could already tell that I am not from around here. So I just take another bite from my meal before looking back at her.

“So you’re an alpha then!? How’s it like to tell others what to do? Not that you should be that smart to do it.” I teased a little.
