Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He did not know the way Eden's mind thinks so he did not know how Eden would use him but as long as it was for the good of the pack, he would do as asked. His only aim was to protect those around him and prove his loyalty. He wasted four years of his life traveling along the river trying to find his way back home and now that he was back, he'd like to stay here for a long time. He would like to reunite with his family and friends and show them the adult he has become. He wouldn't say that being on his own for so long hasn't helped shape him but he'd like to think it only made him stronger. He was on the move a lot so it built up his endurance and he had to fight to survive so he learned a few things naturally along the way. He knew he wasn't a huge wolf by any means but he wasn't small either and while he was agile like Natu, he was also a fierce competitor like Fenrir. He wanted to believe that he had the best of both sides so he could use that to his advantage.

When Eden launched for him, Thor ducked his head out of the way but wasn't able to dodge his shoulder strike so he stumbled back. His eyes showed confusion for a few moments since he was expecting a talk before any real confrontation but it seemed Eden was going to be upfront about what he expected. Not wanting to play the whiny pack member who asks too many questions, Thor decided to jump into action, retaliating against his alpha by going for his front leg. Sure, he knew it was predictable but it was an open shot and he would have to work three times harder to go around for a different angle so why not start here? Thor was surprised when his teeth actually managed to scrape the other wolf's leg. He had been banking on Eden seeing the attack coming and dodging appropriately so either Eden wasn't expecting that or this was his way of rewarding Thor for going for the open shot.

Thor wasn't expecting such a quick counter on Eden's part though, a grunt escaping his lips as he felt the fur pulled from his skin by his shoulder. It stung like a hive of bees but it wasn't like the fur wouldn't grow back. Call it a lesson to keep his defenses up. Then Eden threw his head up, jabbing into Thor's neck to push his head back. He stumbled back in case there was a bite where that had come from, trying to react quicker to save himself. Eden started to back off but he wasn't going to let Thor come at him at the same time, his jaws constantly gnashing the air in warning. Thor knew if he ran at him from the front, he would only be putting his paws in the way so he decided to hang back, circling wide instead to look for another opening. He knew patience if nothing else. As Eden spun around, Thor tensed, ready to launch after him but he wanted to be sure the spar was still in play first. He wouldn't attack his alpha of the fun of it, you know.

But all he needed was that look from Eden and he knew it was alright so he launched himself after the other wolf, ready for more. Eden ran into the forest and Thor was hot on his heels. Running was something he was built for so he excelled at it. He could sense that this was more a test of speed rather than fight skill at this point, since Eden wasn't making a move to attack so instead he focused on eating up the ground with every stride, using his agility to veer around trees and slide under the ones he could to keep up his momentum. He knew that to slow down to leap over a log would cost him but he had to choose wisely because sometimes the logs were too low to go under. He danced through the roots with ease, a laugh falling from his lips as he swished his tail and gathered more ground beneath him. He was having the time of his life with this. Could they do this every day?

Eden changed his course into some bushes, putting more dangerous obstacles in the path but Thor didn't hesitate, not wanting to give up the ground he had recovered while chasing the alpha. He found his eyes caught sight of things with enough time for him to change his course accordingly, able to shift his body just so as he raced past broken branches sticking out and rocks aimed to trip him up. He didn't want to get impaled today so he was playing it safe but not without the chance to cover some more ground. He took shortcuts when he saw them available, anything to get him closer on Eden's tail since he figured just finishing the race wouldn't be well enough. They weren't for his own standards anyway. He waited till he got an open shot before he lunged in, aiming to jab his nose into Eden's thigh, just a message that if it were a hostile, he could have tripped them up by grabbing their back leg out from under them or something, maybe even barreled into them if he had weight on his side.

It was a double whammy move though, for if Eden got even momentarily distracted by his touch, he would then launch forward with everything he had to get ahead of the other wolf, dropping his shoulder to show he could block off the wolf's escape if this were a test to see what he would do next. He didn't want to cause an injury to Eden though so he merely jumped in front and kept going though he had one ear cocked back in case Eden called off the race so he could stop. He was going so fast that to turn his head at this point would be too dangerous. Besides, this was so much fun!
