The gentle wind tickled her face and combed it’s fingers through her long, raven mane. Although the femme had found her roots, Luthien, she had found herself almost disappointed. The Thorny Thicket, her papa’s birthplace, was gone. Nothing more than crumbled land swallowed whole by the unforgiving ocean. The Prairie, while lovely, was not where she could see herself trying to settle down. The stag, Shamwari, had been nice enough and willing to entertain her questions but he was not for her. It was with these thoughts that a long sigh pulled itself from her chest and gushed across the empty space. Here she was again, back at the crossing isle hoping to figure her life out. There was always leaving. Going on another adventure.

With a tentative hoof in the water, something stayed her. Her brief encounter with a handsome stallion, the moment of lust. And so it struck her - the reason for her changing moods and body. The very slight swell of her abdomen. A foal? One reckless moment and she found herself forever tied to this place. You might think the young mare would mourn but instead a sense of peace washed over her like the waves that lapped at her black limbs. A foal! Giddiness welled and burst from the long legged vixen. She would have to find him and tell him the news! Had they even exchanged names? Silvanus wracked her brain for the answer but found none.

Seafoam frothed against her coat, reminding her to move away from the pull of the water. Auds flickering she pranced on light feet, away from the water’s edge and toward the first equine she saw. How could she contain her joy? She needed to share it with someone, be they a complete stranger or friend. Perhaps she could find Persephone!

Nearing the other female, Silvi paused. So serious, she considered. It was perhaps rude to interject herself into this stranger’s life but she had never had a great grasp on boundaries or logic. The coal coated mare nickered a greeting and moved forward again. So intent.
”Hi! I mean. Hello. I don’t mean to intrude. You’re obviously troubled by something. But I would love to help if I might. My name is Silvanus. I was hoping I might find a friend among the islands today.”

It was as simple as that - the disappointment evaporated by the surging excitement of becoming a mother and her normal, eagerness to help others returned.
