Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Thorne had an attitude for sure. It seemed he was stuck on him against the world and he needed to lose that mentality if he was going to get anywhere in life. His first words only proved that theory. Thorne went from rolling his eyes and growling to smirking with a new light in his eyes that Thor didn't like the look of. He was dark, morbid already. What kind of mission did Eden send him on with this task? He shook his head.

"Yes, the weak die and the strong survive but a leader is not a leader without a pack. The leader needs the pack just as much as the pack needs a leader. I'm not saying the leader has to be everyone's wet nurse and do all the fighting. But they need to have a strategy for the pack to survive. They need to train and put others to the task of training. Delegate and organize.

"When you were a pup, weak in the eyes of those much bigger and stronger than you, were you not protected by your pack and parents? Even when the parents are absent, the pack takes over to protect their own when they cannot protect themselves. It is the same idea. What makes the true difference between weak and strong is the mind and the will to survive. If you grew up and decided you didn't need to learn to fight because you would always be protected, that would make you weak. Not the act of being helpless but the mindset that you didn't need to improve."

He tilted his head, wondering how Thorne would react to that. He pinned his ears when Thorne scoffed at him. He wasn't listening, by far. He was so busy thinking of a reply to what everyone said that he didn't take the time to actually take in the words and make sense of it. He rolled his eyes in return.

"It's called pack instinct. Why are you still here in Glorall if you're so fond of solitude? It's called mutual benefits. It's called survival. It's called strength in numbers. There's that word you like so much."

When Thorne went so far as to call him weak, he laughed out loud, his eyes dancing with amusement.

"You know they say it takes one to know one, right? You go around calling names and you're bound to have it rub off on you. You think I'm weak? Fine, test me. Let's have a little one on one spar and see who's weak. I promise you I didn't spend those four years being bored."
