PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

This is no ordinary love

Nyah tagged along apprehensively behind her mother, unsure of this bizarre journey they suddenly embarked upon. Up until this recent trek from Tinuvel to the Crossing, the beautiful, loudly colored filly had lived a mostly picturesque life in the Inlet with her mother, growing stronger each day. But that came to an abrupt halt with Orkaan's disappearance, and the lingering scent of a strange stallion whom had moved in during the painted stallion's absence. Not wanting to chance being forced under the rule of another abusive stallion like Koray, Nova fled the island, pushing her spindly-legged daughter into the surf, and headed toward the closest hazy mass in the distance. They spent a few days ambling around the meadow and the falls, terrain that Nova had come to know almost as well as the Prairie. She had spent so much time there by herself after Nephilim's disappearance. And for so long, she loathed the place. But alas, here she was again, alone and in need of a home, this time, caring for a daughter who didn't have a father.

After a few days of hording up in the woods at night and wandering the open pastures by day, it dawned on her that her sister Oswin, didn't live far away. Vita Nova had never been to the Peak, but knew of its existence. She knew it was somewhere here on the Crossing island, and set out eagerly to find it with a renewed sense of purpose. Nova couldn't help but feel like her mother in some regards, now that like Evaline, she had pushed her daughter away from the only home and herd she'd ever known, and was on this wandering quest for answers that she wasn't sure she'd find. Nova had other options though: she could return to Salem, to Evaline in the Dunes or see friend Evren, whom she hoped was back in the Desert. But the trek there wouldn't be easy. Nyah needed to grow older and stronger before they could attempt such a swim again.

Her icy blue eyes were set on the mountaintops in the distance. Every day they loomed a big closer. Eventually the air became more crisp, and the terrain more elevated. When Nova finally began to find the scents of other mares in the passing breeze, she breathed a sigh of relief. She was close, if she wasn't in the Peak's domain already. But they kept moving, Nova's heart beating hard against the confines of her chest, as she longed to spy Oswin in the distance.
