Bright Moon - a land sullied by mystery and the ravaging scars of a terrible fire. Abandoned as a pack land for years, the terra has been used as a gathering place for the brazen and bloodthirsty drawn there by the lingering pall of death. Yet from the ashes there comes an unordained phoenix, the rainbow hues of hope glinting in her mismatched globes. Through the obsidian drapes obscuring the scenery, she alone was able to catch the perfumed aroma of new life on the breeze and hear the sluggish streams flowing ever swifter into the morning.

Thus, with a purpose, she set out to map the incognita, discovering daily the extent of the reawakening and unearthing within herself a desire to return the landscape to its former glory. Now she stands tall as privileged Alpha of the lands, lording over the rock-strewn prairie and bountiful forests with a firm but gentle paw.

Having finally realized her deepest longing to be a queen, Satowra is focused solely on the revival and maintenance of the Bright Moon Pack. Her question to each prospective warrior that comes to the border is simple:

"Do you have what it takes?"

MEN SHOULD KEEP THEIR WORD,

It seemed like only yesterday the male and his mate had been discussing pups and whether or not they wanted them. Grey Wind had always assumed that he would have a family, but that was before he had come to Blossom and well before he had met Macaria. When he was still destined to be heir to his father’s throne, it was expected that he would have to make heirs of his own. It had always seemed more like a duty than anything else to have kin. But when he had been forced to leave home and find a new one, everything had changed. He was no longer set to inherit a leadership role, and he had no more obligations to anyone. But did he still want a family? He knew that he did, but it felt different now that things were more in his control. He knew he would wait until he found his true mate, and not have it be out of any obligation. When he had met Macaria he had no idea that she would be the wolf that he would fall in love with and start his family with, but now that she had brought it up he knew that it was right. Even if their thoughts about pups were not entirely in sync, that’s what most of their relationship was like, and he knew it would work out for the best between them.

When the pair became mates they were no strangers to copulation, but that particular time felt different. And he knew why a few weeks later when he could see that she was pregnant. Macaria’s form grew with their pups, and though Grey Wind didn’t think it possible, he grew to love her even more. As the femme grew larger and the season grew warmer, he knew that it would come time for her to whelp soon, and so he was constantly by her side, probably annoying her to no end, but he insisted on being there when the pups were born. The pair were fast asleep in their den, Grey Wind unconscious to the world as he slept heavily beside Macaria. Suddenly a scream pierced his ears, and he was instantly awake, yellow orbs looking in concern to his mate. When he saw her, he knew what was happening, and he realized that he had no idea what to do or how to help her. She reached out for him, pulling him even closer to her. The brute adjusted himself so that he was curled around her, trying to soothe her, but also worried himself when he realized how little he knew about this. He could tell how panicked she was as she began shooting questions at him, about why he wasn’t having the pups himself and what was she supposed to do. The male’s ears flattened at her distress, not knowing what there was that he could do to help her. He was thankful that she at least couldn’t feel pain, knowing it would be much worse if she felt the true pains of birthing.

As Macaria rambled on about what to do or not do, Grey Wind felt helpless. He didn’t know what he could to make things any easier, but he couldn’t just lay here and say and do nothing. ”Macaria, love, just breathe, don’t worry. You’ll know what to do. Yes, push. Everything will be okay.” He watched her anxiously, knowing that nature had to take its course and he just had to let things happen. And suddenly it was happening. Macaria let out a scream, but Grey Wind didn’t understand why. Was it so painful that it had awoken her dead pain receptors? Was that even possible? He remained close to her side, waiting anxiously for things to progress. It seemed to take forever, but eventually all the pups were born. Four of them, all of them beautiful to Grey Wind. He barely registered Macaria’s words as he stared at his young. Evandros…Ronan…Ariel…Missandei. Each of them perfect. But his mate’s words finally registered in his ears, and the scent and sight of blood filled his senses. Something had gone wrong. Not with the pups, but with Macaria. There was more blood in their den than there should be, and he had no way to fix it. He barely heard her words…the caves…Thackery…vampire. She was going to turn? But there was no time to think about that or what was going to happen. If he didn’t move now, she may not be here when he got back. Panic showed in his eyes as he stared at her, unable to speak, before he ran out, making his limbs move as fast he could carry them. Grey Wind didn’t let himself think, he just focused on moving, knowing that time was important. All he could do was pray to the gods that things would work in their favor…it had to. The thought of losing Macaria was not something that he could even fathom.
