Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He continued to watch the growing dynamics between Samia and Matianak. His aunt seemed confused at first by the greeting she got from Matianak. He had never seen anyone glare at his aunt before. Usually everyone loved her, his parents included. Of course it probably helped that his dad was her brother but he seemed to adore her, whereas he saw other siblings that only seemed annoyed with each other every time they got together. He was sure Samia could see his embarrassment but she only grinned and approached anyway, as if looking forward to making him look bad in front of the pretty wolf. She even giggled like she did right before tugging on his tail or something. She was a conniving one, his aunt. As they started to walk, he looked back and saw his aunt looking at the turtle shell she likes to take around with her everywhere she goes. He didn't understand why she felt it was always needed but he'd given up on asking a lot time ago.

He was glad enough to trot at Matianak's side but soon he felt another presence on the other side and turned his head only to see his aunt had caught up and was walking on his other side. The glow in his eyes dimmed a little. He frowned at her. "I offered to introduce you before but you said you had something else to do. Something with your herbs." He didn't hide the bitter tone in the last word when he said it. His aunt was fun but she got distracted quite easily and her herbs were important to her. He didn't remember exactly what had happened. Maybe someone needed healing or something but there was something time consuming and she had to run off when he mentioned Charlie. Maybe she didn't even hear him but either way. He had said it and in his opinion, she had blown him off. Even as she pretended to pout, she flicked her tail at his and his brows furrowed.

Then she turned the conversation on Matianak, asking if she had family here. Triton turned his own bright gaze up at her, eager for her response. Surely she did or she wouldn't be here, right? Matianak told him he could call her Mat so he clung to it like a lifeline, giving her a beaming grin as he nodded. "Okay, Mat!" Then Matianak turned to Samia, offering her a grin as well before pointing out that he was trying to make a new friend and that he didn't need to do something with her because she was his aunt. He didn't quite understand the word but it sounded so wise when Matianak said it. She understood him so well! His tail wagged more as he turned back to Samia. "Yeah, aunt Samia! What she said." He grinned, obviously proud of himself before turning back to Matianak. She asked about Charlie and his eyes brightened that much more at the mention of one of his constant companions. No one ever seemed interested in the non-wolf friends he'd made! She was so cool!

"Charlie is a seagull that I play with! He likes to swoop down and grab my tail sometimes. I think he thinks it's an eel or something. Then I chase him around and bark at him and he keeps coming back. It's pretty fun. Want to chase him with me?" His eyes were bright and hopeful. Then Matianak answered Samia, telling her that her father was the pack's Thorn. Triton didn't know all the wolves in the pack yet and their ranks so it was lost on him but he did know enough that the title was a rank and his brows drew up, clearly impressed. "Wow, a ranked wolf! So cool! Aunt Samia has a rank too, and my dad is trying for a rank as well. Are you going to get a rank, Mat? I bet you'd be great at it." Okay, so he wasn't so clear on ranks and their meaning just yet but he knew enough that it made you a pretty important wolf in a pack. In his eyes, at least.
