Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Return to Lunar Children

What if we only had tonight? [Mabel]

Such a moment in which he didn't recognize anything; anyone. Where was the family he'd known? How many nights had he wandered? Gaze was dull; almost lifeless of emotion. Except for hunger. He was so hungry. He didn't understand why they had not ever come to find him. He didn't realize that his family was gone; that they'd been slaughtered like trash. No, he doesn't know any of this. He only understood that he was alone; he was troubled. There was so much life out here and yet; he knew none of them. He was an orphan and that didn't sit too well with him. He wouldn't survive too much out here on his own. How could he? He still needed his mother's milk and yet; she was gone. He couldn't find her. What did he do now?

There was a whine. It was his own but he hadn't even realized that he had made it. He only knew what was there. No, what wasn't there. They were not there and he was scared. He was hungry and he was scared. What did he do now? The lad was not sure but he was only seven months old. He was only a child. Not quite so young that he was helpless except where it was really important. Hunger. Meat was not his strong suit but it was something he'd been learning. Only; it hadn't been enough time. Not really. Mother's milk was still greatly needed. He was scrawny. It had been a little while that he'd been wandering. Finding this place had not been intended, but it had happened.

What now though? Another whine. He was not sure. Not at all. How could he be? He had crouched down and was watching from deep in the tall grasslands. Those lifeless eyes taking in everything around him. Watching for anything that might come hither. Would they have even heard him? Had he even realized he'd whined again? No. Larionus only knew that it was growing dusky out and he was alone. Again. He wasn't fond of that idea but what could he do? Only wait. Nothing more and nothing less. Waiting seemed like something he did much of anymore. Pity really.
