EREBOS
we're all devoid believing we're fallen angels when really we're all just empty vessels
Erebos’ fire and ice eyes went between the two children expectantly. Surely he was doing a good job, and at the very least neither child had tried to run from him yet. That was good, yes? Not running and screaming and calling him a freak as that one wolfess had. That actually hurt a little when she had done so, perhaps one of the reasons why he was trying to fit it. It was like a lightbulb went off that day as to why he was so alone all the time and only really socialized with his siblings, perhaps even why his imprint seemingly didn’t want him either. His imprint. He hadn’t tried to see her since her siblings routed him away. He didn’t know, nor really care, that some of the children were not his father’s, how would Erebos tell? HE looked hardly anything like Father Eden other than perhaps some similar facial features. Otherwise he took after his mother in many ways, certainly more than his father. So looks alone were not enough to deter him from thinking Eira wasn’t a sibling at all. She smelled like Father Eden, slept in Father Eden’s den therefore she was his far as he was concerned.
The pups were having fun though, giggling and carrying on making sounds he was pretty certain he and his siblings never made when they were children, but he was fairly certain they were acting as children should act, he was always the odd one. Even now as he stood somewhat nervously before two children even that the adult male shifted on his paws waiting to see how they would take his presence. The girl did what he did, in a way. She chirped back giving her name and even introduced her sister for her. She however was very silent, watching him, looking him up and down. He didn’t know if she was like her silent mother or what it was, but it didn’t matter to him much, she certainly didn’t seem afraid of him. Though her next words caught the older brother off guard. ”Play...?” He said blinking a bit stunned at the thought that these children were asking him to play, even going so far as to ask about his new friend too.
”You want me to play with you? We can play if that is what you want.” He really didn’t know how to play though. Admittedly, his version of play when he was younger was tossing his friends around, by himself. Up in the air, then trying to catch them, but the fox was a little big for his sisters and he didn’t think that they would like to be erm… tossed… It wasn’t like he was naive, if his fangs dug into the flesh of his little siblings as they did his friends when he caught them he would harm them or worse, but he did have an idea of sorts.
His eyes wandered down to the ground though at the quiet, Badar. She had crawled over to him, batting at his paws and his fox friend with him, so excited it seemed to him at least as she beared her teeth silently. He wondered what the chances were that this one was their father’s favorite because of her quietness. Still they seemed eager to play with him, and certainly didn’t seem off put or bothered by him as some others were. It wouldn’t be so bad to play with them he thought, his eyes wandering to the water next to them.
He reminded himself though that he was supposed to be hunting though. Most might have thought him odd, he didn’t find anything warm blooded as food. Erebos’ diet consisted entirely of the local crabs and fish alone. Though prey had been scarce, his fish included, during this season. Still his desires to fit in were outweighing his rumbly stomach. ”You know how to swim?” He questioned them. They were Glorall wolves, he expected them to probably know, but he wanted to make sure.
