Persephone watched the other mare’s reaction with interest. She sympathised – her thoughts on the subject were much the same. Persephone couldn’t imagine chasing some poor soul home to the Forest against her will. It wouldn’t be much fun to live with a prisoner, and she knew how it felt by now to be on the other side of that ordeal.

She didn’t wish that on anyone.

Persephone accepted the mare’s introduction with a smile and nod of her head. Creed. She committed the name to memory.

“It’s nice to meet you, Creed. I can show you the way, if you’d like?” she tilted her head and turned to make a start in the direction of the Meadow and the Falls, hoping that Creed would agree to follow.

Her ears flicked towards her companion as she spoke. Persephone returned her smirk with a small grin.

“Well, I don’t know much about happily ever after – though there’s time yet still – but sleepless nights and paranoia, well, that sounds like adventure to me,” she replied, glancing at the other mare as they walked slowly through the Common. “And there’s plenty more for you to find here, I’m sure – I’ve had my own fair share since I arrived on these islands a couple years ago.”

She paused a moment, remembering those days.

“I suppose it depends what kind of adventure you’re looking for.”
