She leaned out over the cliff face, smelling the air. She was sure she could almost smell Paradise from here. But alas, she was on the other half of the island now. Could she actually be home sick? Ugh, perish the thought. She didn't even stay in the herd lands half the time and that wasn't about to change. She was actually thinking about stretching her legs a little in the free lands now. She'd been watching the little face off going on further into the island but she grew bored and wandered off. It seemed Rougaru had come to pay a visit to Liland. They'd had another battle, this time over ruling the island, and the lizard king had won this time. Fancy how he can win the island but not keep a mare. Oh, look at her being bitter. No sense in that.

He still had Zjeena and Liland's kids and Liland still had her. How long would they keep this up? She didn't understand what the purpose was. Shouldn't a battle in itself tell them all they need to know? Maybe this is why she wasn't born a stallion. Good riddance. All that testosterone seemed more a weakness than a strength, in her opinion. Don't get her wrong; she liked to taste the blood of her opponent just as much as the next stallion, but stealing a mare for leverage to get your own mare back? When it doesn't work, there should be a plan B but it didn't seem like either stallion had that in mind. Now they were just two stubborn jackasses holding out until the other breaks or until they could shed blood again. How manly of them....not. She shook her head of such thoughts and pushed into the wind again.

She could see the crashing waves of the ocean below and it both terrified and excited her. You could see the danger in the water; hell, you could taste it. It was so beautiful and yet dangerous. She admired it. She pawed at the edge of the cliff, watching mesmerized as the rocks fell down into the waves below.
