PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

send me reeling

i’m on fire, again
She opens her eyes and can’t quite believe it’s still standing there in front of her. Immovable, impregnable, a symbol of strength and something eternally steadfast: Rhadra feels her heart swell again and her head lifts, lips easing into a wide and beautiful smile as she is overcome with awe a second time looking up at the mighty peaks. She feels she could stand here forever.

As the sun journeys higher Rhadra lowers her gaze to inspect what else has been illuminated by the warming light, and it is there across the meadow in which she stands that her eyes are drawn to the relaxed figure of another horse. In truth she could not say how long they may have been standing there: if they had been in the meadow before she arrived, the sheer presence of the mountains themselves had unerringly gathered her full attention, holding her utterly captivated so that even if they had arrived after her, Rhadra would have had no idea.

In a way, that makes the spotted horse a figure as constant as the range at its back.

Rhadra steps forward, glancing up often at the incredible sight before her as she makes her way slowly toward the other. Bit by bit she comes to recognize the horse as male, spotted liberally and variously, standing with as much poise as she herself exhibits when breathing prayer. It is for this reason that she draws up near him quietly and waits a beat to see if he is aware of her closeness before she dares to address him in a soft, nuanced voice.

“Beg pardon,” she says, genuinely adverse to interrupting another horse at prayer but unable to contain the curiosity that drums within her, insistent as her heartbeat. “But have you come down from up there?” She hardly dares imagine it. A horse come down from such great heights—what glory, what fortune awaits the bold above?

Rhadra
