I was interested to read in Vetaffairs newsletter of the commemorative medallion produced for the 75th anniversary of the end of WW2. The article in Vetaffairs was headed as "Thank you from a grateful nation". Not much of a thank you, as it is available only to a handful of veterans still living. A pathetic and hardly grateful gesture actually. If the government was "fair dinkum", it would also be available to the descendants of those veterans who have passed away, and in particular those who paid the ultimate price for their service. Shame on the government for such a hollow gesture. Replies:
