The new election is what has her out today thinking. No one up for positions stir her interest so for now she will refrain from being a part of the vote. Some have more work to do than others as she does remember seeing the mare Oswin around a couple years back. It was around the time Abraham was born. The mare had only been known as a warrior back then, just as herself, but she doesn’t remember much else. Now she has returned to claim the spot of Prime Minister. The mare was older so she assumes she has accomplished some things her in lifetime, but the problem was Clarity had no idea what that was. It was hard for her to hand over the Prime Minister title knowing who held it last. Knowing who held it the last couple times, even. Macabre (unofficial), Wasp, and Bozena were hard acts to follow. The Peak did need a leader nonetheless and so if Oswin could show her some more she might be willing to vote in favor of her. Out of everyone she was the only one willing to step up and the only one Clarity knew to have been around for a while (even if she has left through the years).
Next up was the position of Codebreaker. Clarity has seen no one better at the position than Macabre and Adelheid. She did not care about the position as much as the other two, but this stranger Bane would not get her vote just like that. She has never even seen the mare around until now so she could not say what she was capable of. Then comes the General. This position was held much closer to her heart. Clarity thinks by now she should be ready for it, but something holds her back. It might be the responsibility and the fact she saw herself still learning the ways of battle. After seeing the things that happened to her soft spoken mother she vowed to never allow that to happen to her. Somehow things still seem to creep up on you in times of darkness. Judas had taken Abraham and had never brought him back to the islands. There was no way for her to know if her son still breathes.
The same had happened with her youngest Louis. She had trusted Gael more than Judas and still she has not seen her son since he was a yearling. Then there was her dear Patience. Her daughter was the only child she believed would always be with her. She stayed in the Peak until she was two and found a family of her own. She had visited sometimes, but the visits suddenly stopped. Clarity thought it might have been because of her condition of pregnancy, but when she went looking in the Badlands she could not find her of her grandchild. She could not find her mate Kamakaze or anyone to tell her where they went. She knew right then in her heart that her baby girl was gone. It was this sadness that keeps her away from others lately. She has not conversed with her sisters for months, possibly longer. Until now when election season was upon them again.
After learning from Bozena she felt no one could do the General justice. Adelheid had tried, she wasn’t bad, but it just wasn’t the same. Now some new young girl wanted to take their spot. Clarity did not feel ready in all her experience so she defiantly could not stand beside a younger mare who had even less fighting experience than herself. Though the girl seems driven to make something of herself Clarity just did not feel she was ready. She just could not see herself learning from the youngster (though she wasn’t much younger than herself). Clarity wasn’t sure there was anything Roisin could do to prove herself. It was something only time could fix.
