As Aase debated which way to go, it seemed she had attracted attention to herself. The approach of another distracted her from her internal debate; her blue eyes taking in the red stallion that gave a gentle call. If she had been anything like Ashteroth, Aase would have bowed up to make herself look bigger and gave a challenging paw to the ground. Instead, her body remained relaxed, and her ears tipped forward. Although nerves churned in her stomach, setting her on edge, Aase wasn’t flighty either. Only wary of the unknown stallion in an unknown land.


“My name is Aase.” she answered, almost saying she was the daughter of Solomon and Xiomara, but decided not to. At one time that would have given her protection, but now, she wasn’t sure if that would make her a target. A pawn in whatever game had sent her family to Salem. “And I’m not lost, I just…. Wasn’t expecting a meadow to be here.” the painted young mare said, which in a way was the truth. In the very least, she knew she was on the Crossing. And she had been going towards Tinuvel when she started. Aase just wasn’t sure when everything stopped being familiar on her way home.


“What does your name mean?” A total subject change, and a bold question, but Aase pairs it with a smile. “No one is given a name like Nahawi, without it having a meaning.” Young, innocent child. If only she knew she stood in the Commons, and not in the safety of the Falls or Meadow, where it would be okay to talk to a stranger so freely.
