They were moving fast.

The rhythmic pattern of paws and hooves against the earth echoed in the trees. Twilight had fallen and the sky turned a brilliant array of colors, they were trying to reach their destination before darkness fell and they would have been stuck in the milky darkness of the woods. Bright green cat eyes turned to look at the buckskin horse that was following her, their telepathic link opened and she warned him that they didn’t know the dangers of the area anymore and they needed to hasten their pace.

And that’s what they did. A sudden burst of energy rolled through them as the Iberian lynx and the horse charged into the shadows of the trees.

It wasn’t long until they opened into a clearing. Heavy panting was the only sounds they heard as they stared at the king’s castle. The stars were out and shown brilliant against the darkness. The moon rose high in the sky revealing a shimmering gray light of silk. The lynx curled together as she began to grow, the fur on her skin began to disappear, as cat-limbs not turned to feet and hands, what was once a cat was now a naked woman. Blinking into the darkness the cat pupil disappeared and returned to normal round pupils but the same bright green eyes lingered. Walking over to her familiar, Braebuck she took from his her bag that was fastened around his neck. Pulling out clothes as she changed back into her normal attire, a light green shirt and some dark green pants, she pulled a heavy light brown coat around her shoulders. The brisk spring air was proving to be coat weather in her standards. Grapping a tie from her bag she fastened her dark brown hair up into a pony tail. Satisfied that she was ready to move forward she placed her hands on Braebucks back before jumping gracefully on.

Even though they were close, they still were far enough that by foot it was too slow. Epos hadn’t known what had happened since she came back from earth. The woman had been tossed back and somehow had knocked herself out, whether it was from traveling through the rip that took its toll on her or something else. Epos had never been quite good at traveling, when she had come to Shaman she had lost all of her memories, but thankfully that had happened this time. When they reached a cobble stone pathway she dismounted. Patting her familiar on the shoulder as she walked along a square. A soldier crossed her path and the gaze he settled on her was almost unsettling. She peacefully asked him where she could find the king; reluctantly he began leading her in a direction she had been before.

The guard left her at a chapel door. Thanking him she turned to Braebuck and dismissed him. The horse eyed her carefully before returning back where they had originally met the guard, he saw a nice little barn there with hay. She couldn’t help but laugh lightly; of course he would be thinking about his stomach in times like this. Turning back to the door she didn’t bother even knocking, she lightly clenched the knob and turned in to walk in, the faint but familiar sound of squeaking as she wandered in and shut the door behind her. In front of her was Arthur, kneeling at the alter she most certainly had admired only months ago. A soft smile spread against her pale lips. “Hello Arthur.”

She would see Jensen and their daughter soon, just because she was officially back from earth did not mean that her work was done. Epos needed to establish herself first, she was one of those all work and no play kind of girls. Independent and strong, she would have never forgiven herself if she hadn’t come to too figure out what had happened, and to see what Arthur needed her to do. She would have time to relax and catch up soon enough.
