No. No, no, no. She couldn't be having her kits now, could she? Bronze orbs glinting in panic, the cougar sprang across the leaf mold, his long tail flicking away at the branches crossing his path. Snarling in irritation at his foolishness to leave his mate, he shut his eyes tight and leapt over a gaping dark chasm, wondering how on earth it had got there. It hadn't been there before... He was sure of it. But it can't have just appeared... Disturbing images flashed through his mind, but he pushed them away, opening his eyelids... Just at the wrong time. His heart skipped a beat as he felt a searing pain in his left eye - the slightly blind one.

Ugh.

He had no idea what had happened, but suddenly his vision disappeared out of that eye, and he closed it instinctively. Ignoring the consistent throbbing pain, he continued on, following his scent trail from when he had left Storming Night to go hunting. The dual-coloured cougar had suddenly thought on the way to the hunting grounds that if his mate had gone into labour while he wasn't there, anything could've happened really. So he had doubled back, and started sprinting when he realised the extremity of the risk - and he had thought of about every possible thing that could have gone wrong.

Luckily, quite soon he had entered the gang's territory, and he was zooming across the ground towards his and his mate's den. Halting at the entrance, he ducked through, to see Nalleya calmly seated in their den... Nothing happening. No kits coming. Thank goodness. His heart slowed its pace, along with bringing back the pain from his blinded eye. "Um. Hi."
