The mare has kind eyes, but she’s an odd duck. Earthshine is used to being all on her own. That’s nothing new in her world. There were the days when her siblings were happy to ignore her, the early days of her childhood when her mother would hardly look at her. She had the eyes of her father, the ones with all the lights. Rush had been so placid, Trick so full of… well… everything. Life, mostly. Earthshine still has those eyes, but they’re so very far away in this place. She’s so very far away as she stands directly before the roan stallion.

The creature lifts a lazy hoof, tail flickering without much interest. The company is nice, sure. It feels good. ”Shatter and fall into the ocean, actually. It’s happened before.” Earthshine speaks offhandedly. This stallion must be relatively new… she had seen the waves as they washed up on the shore that day, nearly washing away their entire sandy beach. Earthshine didn’t know how else to explain it, other than the feeling of nearly being swallowed up. She didn’t like that feeling. It was one of the few times she’d ever truly been scared of nature… of anything, much.

This isn’t a mare that knows the true meaning of desperation. She may have felt shadows of the strange, creeping feeling but it’s no friend of hers. No. She simply swishes her tail and keeps her eyes focused on the place where the grey sea meets the grey sky. Not crazy either… just distant. She’s seen a lot of distance lately. ”Earthshine.” The introduction is short, sweet and to the point. Her ears flicker for a moment, unsure what to do next. ”How long have you been here, Solgar?” The mare tries out the name on her tongue, unsure of how it sits on her tongue. It’s not quite sweet, hinging on the edge of sour, maybe with a bit of salty. Gritty. That’s the right word. It tastes gritty.
