The largest bobcat tails are normally 10 inches. The problem is, this cat has facial and leg features of a bobcat. If you have a picture that shows the tail longer, thats very key. We have pictures of a cat in Southampton,MA that are from the side. You cannot see the face, and the tail curves away from the viewer. Several key groups say its a mountain lion, MasaWildlife says its a bobcat. You need several key features for a postive ID. Note also the lack of the black moustache like feature around the mouth, that even young mountain lions usually have. Most of us know there are mountain lions around, but this picture doesnt have the visible features to confirm one. Love for you to post one showing the long tail!! Yes, you all saw it, but myself and others have seen mountain lions, but without proper proof, it wont fly! Help us get it!!
