Once Upon A Time...

Kahawa looked horrified, again, at the stallion's actions as her father lost it. Amour was screaming now, "Nimbus! I can protect myself! You know how many times I've fought off things that have tried to kill Kahawa!?!?! Her mother died because I couldn't protect her! I had left the herd to claim a mare! Why would i not be able to protect myself?! It seems all you care about is power, power is sooo important to you isn't it!? Well maybe you should think about other members of the population and your friends! I don't need you or anyone else! The only reason I STILL have Kahawa is that I made a promise that I'd keep her until she was two! She just turned two and I can't hold the promise! Where is she going to go when I leave?! How is she going to survive out there?! Yeas, I love Kahawa, but she is old enough to protect herself and I want the best for her!! No, I don't need what you give me! I was doing it to make her happy for a while!" Amour's chestnut roan body rose up into the cloudless atmosphere, coming down hard on the sand. If the sand had been cold hard ground, he would've broken his legs. Kahawa was horrified at the truth unfolding before her eyes. The whole time, he'd put on an act of a stupid, weak and calm horse while really the Amour she knew had been a horse equivalent to an alcoholic. Kahawa's blue eyes filled up with heavy teardrops. As they hit the sand, they dried quickly and she turned and bolted when her father looked at her. She hid behind the tree that had been here and sobbed as Amour followed Nimbus angrily. The sobs from Kahawa were loud and endless, knowing that she didn't know the real father she'd been placed with. Images of her mother bleeding out on the ground flooded her mind as she remembered his words. He couldn't protect her and then made a bargain with her! When Kahawa looked at the two stallions who'd raged at the shore, she shuddered and decided to stay hidden for a while. Amour was still flicking his tail hard against his sides as he stood next to Nimbus. Almost fuming as the rage poured out of him. The red roan filly behind the tree was no longer his daughter, but an acquaintance in this world. "Hello." Amour said to the supposedly newest addition to the family.
