IT'S OKAY FOR YOU TO HATE ME

It's okay for you to hate me
For all the things i've done
I've made a few mistakes,
But i'm not the only one

The air is colder than it had been in months and leaves that were so full of life now hung solemnly on the tired limbs of the forests trees. Wisps of hair twisted in surrender against the claws of the zephr wrapping them around the pale man’s ears. Cretaceous blue eyes stared from behind the protection of his forelock as Lyden sighed in dismissal. Since his encounter with the charcoal damsel Azazel he thought of his own statement being more true than he had given much credit or thought. The forest is beautiful and full of promise and yet Lyden could not understand why he had bothered filling it with those who really did seem to prefer the comfort of it instead of him. Fantazer he hadn’t seen since he brought her here which he thought strange because she has such a kind personality. Skylar disappeared after their romantic encounter leaving him to wonder if they’d be parents again come spring. His newest adventures to the commons had left with firey spirited gabby who he just couldn’t seem to snap out of being a love sick puppy with and quicksilver, the shy mare who he wanted to protect and watch over like a king would his wife.
All of which he thinks of now as he moved forward catching the scent of his king made him feel uncomfortable and unworthy. Weaving through thick foliage as the rushing water came into ear shot he thought of Azazel and how much he enjoyed finally having a conversation with someone who wasn’t being difficult, unsure or just disinterested. He had invited her to come check out the forest but wasn’t sure if she’d take him up on his offer although he really hoped that she would. Lyden not only wished for that but also yearned for any of his girls to show their faces and take the time to have an actual relationship with him, that and his son who he hadn’t seen since his last encounter with Jabberwocky
As birds chirped above him objecting to how cold the temperatures were falling Lydens eyes fell on remo who was staring out across the water at something. Just beyond him on the ground with his legs up was Jabberwocky having himself a good roll. The sight made Lyden smile for real and not halfhearted to be polite. The ebony brute was very calm and kind and being in his presence made Lyden very comfortable. He didn’t feel as though he needed to prove something like he did with his last king. Perhaps if he had felt more welcome in the paradise things may have turned out differently
Without altering his pace Lyden moved to stand in between where remo was and Jabberwocky was laying. His lips still curved in an easy smile as his auditives moved forward with eager alertness. ”there is nothing like a roll to settle your skin from everyday irritations”
