Each passing day the warmth begins to fade from the lost islands. Fall was beginning to transform the inlet from the browns and tans of late summer to the splashes of oranges and deep crimsons of Fall. The splashes of color spread from the tundra to the few leaf bearing trees of the forest. This was his home, the inlet, it was meant for the hardy grullo pony. Since laying his first hoof on the rocky shore, it had been his, and now his humble herd had grown in considerable size. Ceasing his ambling walk, chocolate brown eyes flow over the tundra that spread out before him. He spotted his mares, some paired up while others wandered on their own, yet they were all visible. He watches them in silence.
A cool breeze lifts his ebony forelock from his wide-set forehead, revealing a small white splotch. As dark chocolate eyes search through his herd, he finds the familiar face chestnut body of Grai. He had been meaning for some time to speak with him about a few matters that were presenting themselves. Grai had disappeared for a few weeks and Dögun was curious. He hoped that all was well in his life. With a toss of his ebony mane he sets out across the tundra.
Nearing Grai, a nicker is thrown out to the chestnut, letting him know that he wanted to speak with him. Halting just a short distance away from Grai, he notices the companions that he had brought home. Dark eyes pass over the palomino mare at his side, and the foals that accompanied her. With a nod and a smile towards the new mare, he returns his attention to Grai. "I have been wanting to speak with you, my friend. Follow me." His friendly smile remains on his face as he waits for Grai to accompany him on a patrol of the northern border.
