There is a presumption and a theory it was the same individual. But looking at the DNA reports, and examining the evidence, its just as likely it was now. Helen look at the previous post. There are way too many holes in that story. New York was denying they ever had DNA 6 months after the cougar was hit in CT. Suddenly, here comes DNA from Lake George...

The DNA reports say "closest match", not "exact individual".

The route the cat would have to have taken to get to CT in that time frame is virtually impossible. FWA has even stated they are not sure of that theory.
