A soft sigh fled the honey hued mare at the lingering touch that stayed with her as they drew further away from the crash of the waves. She did not wish to think about the dangers she had just left behind. All it would have taken was for the sea's to take a turn for the worst and she might never have made it to Tinuvel’s shores. And perhaps not any others. The thought was enough to send a shiver of dread down her back at what she had risked, the life beyond her own she had risked. Guilt twisted through the mare. She was not certain still. After four cycles it was the first child Amica had born. Though she knew from watching from a distance the changes that would occur she could not judge from experience. Both hope and fear twisted within her at the thought of what might be occurring within her. How could she be a mother? Still the doubt danced through her, so strong it had led her to take such a risk. In her fear she would be unable to protect her child alone she had put it at risk in order to reach a place that whispered of safety, of the protection she could not give. Was this the sort of mother she was to be?

Thankful suddenly for the cold trembling through her physique to hide the nerves running through her Amica pressed closer, cheek brushing against his neck attempting to push that guilt down. Though she held no desire to deny the accusals that she deserved she wished to be certain before they came. Though tempting it was to nudge the pale form at her side and utter the reasons that had finally driven her to make that trip she held her tongue. Until she was sure she would remain quiet on the subject.

Ears twitched to the sounds of his laughter even as she felt it vibrated through her from the warm side pressed against hers and despite the cold, despite the exhaustion, an answering laugh rippled up in response, nipping lightly at the thick mane beside her. "What is life without a few challenges?" She had certainly encountered more than a few in her time. Perhaps if she knew what was to come through the winter months she might have been more wary. But she was there. She was safe and whole. He was there. Surely she could face now whatever this island wished to throw at her. And a herd. For the first time since her childhood she might be part of something larger. With the support of others. She did not know what she could offer to that collection, but she was determined she would be more than a drain upon them.

Thoughts continued to slip through the haze of her mind as she followed the presence at her side, nose reaching out frequently to return that touch she had longed to feel in the days and weeks that had parted them. From the numbness she lifted her head, breathing the cool air and the scents that hinted to her upon it. Finally drained legs were allowed to come to a stop. The urge to just close her cloudy eyes and rest was tempting. So tempting. Yet curiosity flared within her, eyes scanning searching across another unknown world. "Thank you." A smile lingered about her lips as she stood, head lowered though barely touching the blades of grass beneath her nose. More interested in the surrounding terrain that she had given herself to than the prospect of food. "Describe it to me?" she requested quietly, ears flickering to the winds wondering what tales this cold kingdom had to tell.
