The elite are back

Chris, who stands to profit from that "roaming cat" story, and Helen, who represents a point of view that there are no cats in New England, are back at it here. People within Helen's own organization have admitted to me that her viewpoint is dated. I would suggest that either or both go up to any hilltown in the Berkshires, go into a local restaurant, and state "There are no cougars in Massachusetts". They will be laughed out of town. The people there know what a bobcat looks like, and know what a cougar looks like. The evidence over the years seems to have faded conveniently into obscurity. But alas, we have even a book written by a local bobcat trapper in the 1950s describing his cougar encounters. They belittle and demean any evidence, then label any cats found as "not a breeding population", insinuating there never will be. Well Helen and Chris, you have zero credibility with any of the population here.
