Rowena wonders what it must be like to hold a place so sacred and fond. The young mare has never experienced a feeling of home in any place. Despite her mother's lack of maternal doting, Rowena remembers the fun they had, chasing the moon, and conjuring the light. They too called upon the spirits, but mostly upon those of the dead and damned to do their wicked bidding and exact revenge. Her mother's heart seemed full of hate, but really it was just wounded. Circe begged her daughter not to search for her father, because the Amazon mare, after a heart broken on too many times, believed only in the love of her sisters. Much like Vodnik, the mare traveled with those of her own sex, rarely settling in one place for long.
Growing up in such a lifestyle, Rowena always dreamed of something different. With so many horses finding home and finding a mate, Rowena dreams that such a thing is not out of reach for her, as it was for Circe. Rowena yearns for comfort and love. Maybe that's all Circe ever yearned for, but Rowena has not yet had her romantic childhood dreams trampled by time and reality.
It seems the skies have answered her requests. Rowena hears the footfalls of an approaching horse and lowers her gaze. Her eyes then fall upon the prettiest face she's ever seen in a stallion. She's never seen blue eyes like this before, and oh, they make her weak in the knees. Rowena returns the smile and suddenly becomes aware of how sloppy she looks.
"Hello", she echos a greeting. "If I'm invited to dance with the faeries of the falls, I shouldn't attend without a partner. Care to join me?" Rowena surprises herself with her own boldness. Her heart pounds in her chest like an animal fighting for release.
