Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

They're Catching Onto Us

They said we'd burn so bright.
We burn this city and go.

The young stallion was very much lost in his own mind as he wandered down the stale, muddied trails of the Lagoon. He was hardly concerned about who he'd find here, though perhaps, he should have been. All Paradiso knew of this place was the dread associated with it. He knew Shamwari was forced to live here because he was bastard. He knew his eldest brother, the one who nearly killed their mother, ran havoc from this place before he was struck down. He'd met a few bossy stallions in the commons who reeked of this place, untrustworthy souls with a wild look in their eye like they'd seen something traumatic, or worse, had committed action on the same scale. What dumbfounded young Paradiso was that the community here on the Lost Islands allowed such a place to play a part in their lives. Why wouldn't band stallions and territory leaders come together to shut this place down for good, once and for all? Why allow such an unruly crowd to fester and grow in strength here, when all they did was want to hurt innocent others? All of these questions, which seemingly had no reasonable answers, made the muscles under his taunt skin begin to twitch.

Paradiso picked up the pace, slopping through the mud down a slope toward a pool of standing water. Sometimes he'd have to stop and hold his eyes shut for a long time. He kept seeing fearful images of his mother, famished and pregnant, her ear torn and bleeding. Those foals she now cared for. Every bit of her misery led back to this place. And Paradiso, suddenly full of rage and incapable of getting a handle of his emotions, wanted to burn it down.

So when the voice of another finally broke his train of thought, Paradiso swung around on his haunches and launched his body into a full and impressive rear, grunting fiercely as he did so, and lashing out with his dark legs. He needed a scapegoat, someone to punish for everything terrible that had happened to his family here. The young spotted stallion had barely gotten a look at the guy before he so brashly acted out in aggression. When he came back down on all fours, his ears were pinned but he was starting to come around, realizing how foolish it would be for him to pick a fight, alone, in a place full of bachelors who knew this land better than him. So far, this similarily spotted horse seemed friendly enough, but Paradiso wasn't sure if that was just a ruse.

"What?" He said roughly, pawing into the mud now, completely confused. "What the hell are you talking about?"
