Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

ARGENTO

What do you do when life gives you lemons? You make lemonade. In Argento's case, lemonade was to be had in the form of social interaction, which he was hard-pressed to find in the Lagoon these days. He'd stumbled across a rogue lemon a few days before - a young stallion called Paradiso - but the Lagoon was a large place and he was hardly about to be satisfied by one encounter. Where was the Lagoon he'd heard stories of in his childhood? Where was the busy congregation of bachelors that was always finding a new way to give the herds hell? Since he had arrived Argento had yet to experience it as anything other than a haunting ground for lonely drifters like himself.

But with the summer solstice came gradual change. Gent began to find evidence that others were hanging around for more than just a day or two, even if it was just a slight musk on the breeze to indicate as much. He had not managed to run into anyone yet, until the day a call echoed through the air. Gent had been grazing along the banks of the lagoon, the water lapping at his hooves, and lifted his head at the sound. There was a bend in the water's path, and so all he could see was trees, but the caller sounded close. Curiosity lifted his hooves at once, and he cut straight through the forest to the other side of the lagoon, too eager to take the long way along the embankment.

He found two strangers awaiting him: one a handsome cream-and-brown stallion about his height, who was a few years his senior, and another, smaller and lankier stallion of similar coloring who was closer to his own age. The cream stallion was in the shadows, immersed in conversation with the lean stallion, and as Gent arced around the edge of the lagoon to reach them, he caught a few words of their conversation. Introductions were being made, which confirmed Gent's suspicion that they were both new. "Good afternoon, gentlemen," he greeted them with a smile, pulling up along the shore perpendicular to the angular buckskin. He had learned from his confrontation with Paradiso - manners first, jokes later.

"Allow me to welcome you both to the Lagoon. I am Argento, though you can call me Gent. Is this your first time here?"
