Vita Nova was surprised to see Requiem in the Inlet, and even more startled that he left the Bay to come see her. While the Queen of the Inlet had known the young stallion since he was merely a colt, it wasn't like the two were very close. In fact, when Warsaw first floated this idea of an arrangement between his son and her daughter, she was disappointed. Vita Nova thought the world of Tavas, and as such, she had dreamed of far more worthy suitors for her pretty little daughter. That said, Requiem certainly wasn't the worst Warsaw could come up with. As far as Nova had seen, the stallion was kind. That was a rare trait in men, Nova was learning, outside of Luthien.
"What is this all about Requiem?" She asked cautiously. For a second, she worried about Tavas. Then she thought about it again. Who did she know that would risk their own safety to come to Tinuvel to see her? Vita Nova couldn't think of anyone... But then Requiem obliges her... Petal.
Vita Nova walked briskly, her slender, shorter legs trying to keep pace with the cream-colored stallion's much longer pace. She remained quiet for the rest of their short journey, until they breached the Bay's boarders. Vita Nova hadn't seen her friend Petal in who knows how long. But it was Petal who was with her when she first met Warsaw. Gosh, life had certainly changed since then. The sooty-colored mare's mind was so far away from Tavas at this point, that she merely nodded when Requiem took charge another way. She nickered to Petal when she finally spied her in the distance.
"Petal, what are you doing here? And on the verge of winter? You must be freezing." She said to her friend, creamy plumes rising in the crisp air with every breath she took. "What's wrong? Is it Shamwari? Jabari?" Her heart was suddenly beating against the confines of her chest, anticipating the worst.
