Akello was sure his mother would be wondering where he ran off to so soon after he came into the world but he couldn't just wait around on her to wake up, could he? There was so much to see and do and there wasn't enough hours in the day for it all! Now that his belly was full of milk and he'd taken a nap, he was ready to explore this world and see all that he could see. The striped colt didn't expect to see another his own size and everything so soon but it was a pleasant surprise. Now he would have a friend, maybe even a partner-in-crime. They could explore together and harass other horses. He could learn so much from this other colt! Surely the other was older and could tell him some things he didn't know yet.

The colt said his name was Legolas and that he was the son of Cain and Geneva. Akello tilted his head for a minute as he thought on it before snorting. "My mom's name is Vihaan and I thought my dad's name was Cain, too. Does that mean our dads have the same name?" He was a little confused. Then Legolas asked if he wanted to explore with him and Akello nodded, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Yeah! Let's do it! Where do you want to go first?" He was almost bouncing on his little hooves, eager to get going.
