Havelle returns to the meadow today to reminisce. Standing out in the open, the yearling filly closes her eyes, tilts her chin to the wide open sky and breaths deep the memories here.

Havelle is still bouncing and kicking up her heels when she realizes she's been targeted. She lets out a startled squeal and takes off running, but it's too late. Neferyt's established momentum overtakes her and lands a tag squarely on her flank. With a huff, Havelle circles back and goes after her brother.
She is in hot pursuit as he runs full tilt across the meadow. Nattergal blows a raspberry over his shoulder and in doing do, loses his balance. The colt tumbles head over heels. Not far behind him, and unable to stop, Havelle trips over her brother goes stumbling out of control. She runs smack into Neferyt's mom, grazing peacefully near their play area. She gets bounced backwards onto her haunch and finds herself sitting prone and looking sheepishly up at the strange mare. "I-I'm sorry!" she stammers.

Havelle smiles sadly, remembering a time when accidentally bumping into someone was the worst of her fears. So much has changed since then. The yearling filly lowers her head to graze. She opens her eyes. The tired lines around them belong on a much older face. This time she grazes alone, no brother in sight, and no playful encounters send her leaping and bounding across the meadow.
A bright blue autumn sky stretches above. The occasional white cloud skitters by, driven by a cool breeze. Trees bordering the meadow rustle their dry, brown leaves, a sound as soothing as the distant sound of the ocean's waves. Havelle is aware of other horses milling around, but makes no motion to engage with them.
