can you see me now?

She never had ideas for where she would end up when she first came to the islands. She just went where she ended up. That was all she'd ever done. She didn't have plans or ambitions. She just did her part and saw where it got her. So far it hadn't steered her wrong. She found a home and friends. She found Shaydowfax and Desirie and now Bahadir. Her coat shone in the sun and her legs were toned from walking in the sand for so long. She had never been more happy with where she was. Raptor was growing up so strong and independent and she couldn't wait to see what her daughter did next. She knew her body would change with the upcoming seasons. She would give Bahadir a child this time and a new eagerness filled her at the thought.

He had done right by the herd, even if Shaydowfax didn't think so. She loved her friend but she didn't believe in turning on someone because they lost. Horses fight and they win and they lose. It's just part of life. When she looked up, she didn't expect to find another mare but that's exactly what she found. The mare was black so Illusion's first thought was that she probably got so hot in the sun with that dark coat. The first word the mare spoke was unfamiliar. Illusion's ears flicked back and forth in uncertainty before the mare spoke again and this time she could understand her. The mare asked if she was up to something or if they could do some exploring. Giving her a soft smile, Illusion nodded. "I would love to do some exploring. I'm Illusion. What's your name?"

She tilted her head, taking in the other mare. She smelled of Bahadir and the Dunes so Illusion had to believe he brought her here to join the herd. When she saw where the mare was pointing, Illusion snorted softly and started walking that way, waiting for the the black mare to match pace with her. She had explored most of the Dunes already in her time here but it never ceased to amaze her. There was always something new to see. Her tail swished idly behind her as she shook out her mane and started the climb, her hooves sinking into the sand with every step but she pushed forward, her muscles used to the strain. She kept glancing over at the other mare, making sure she was doing okay. She still worried about that dark coat...
