Duck, duck, goose!

The shadows were for wimps. Duckie had never taken to being on the sidelines. She liked to be out in the open; the center of attention. Duckie was not the kind of mare that just stood around waiting. No, she got out there and did things. She made herself known and often, she made a name for herself. It was not always the best of times with her, but it was what she made of it.This buckskin Tovero splashed creature was not the type of lady to find comfort in solitude. No, she had to get out there and explore. There was always something in an adventure.

It drove her brother nuts. He wanted to protect her and sometimes she made that quite the challenge. Similar to his sister being a buckskin tobiano, but a little taller. He was the quieter of the two, but by far not the stillest. No, he had a knack for exploring too, but only because he just had to keep an eye on his sister and not always look like he was following her around. Like this day. He had spotted the stallion well before Duckie had but Goose knew it was only a matter of time before she found Angel and approached him. She had never been shy after all and he is already rolling his eyes at the thought of socializing. Not that he wasn't social. He just wasn't sure what he felt today to be honest. It would be him staying in the background and watching her. Perhaps he would approach the pair eventually but not right away. Merely making sure that his sister was safe for now. He just didn't wish to make acquaintances just yet.

Duckie was always a little bored without others to entertain her though and hold her company. It is now that she spotted the golden buckskin and a shrill whistle escapes her lips to be heard to him. She wastes no time while her brother held back. She didn't even know that he is watching her. She would figure that out eventually but right now her attention was all on Angel. That head of hers is held high as nostrils flare and she trots in his direction. She splashes water around her legs as she comes skidding to a halt. Those droplets of cool spray in all directions as she shook her mane out finally and those rich eyes studied him. She wastes no time in speaking up either.

"Hi there! I'm Duckie!" Just Duckie. You couldn't really shorten that much to be honest. You couldn't shorten it at all. That was fine with her though; she rather liked her name. It was odd but it was hers. No one else could ever claim it and she'd never let them anyway. You could call her odd. Just don't call her late to the party or she might take a chunk out of that pretty little mane on whomever decided to do just that. "What's with the sighing? You seem agitated. Why?" It was never like her to hold her tongue. She was curious and sometimes that got her into trouble. Her brother was often there to save her tail from some sort of confrontation. Right now though; he wasn't here. Well, she didn't know that he was there anyway. Watching as usual. She'd probably roll her eyes and bite the air in his direction once she did figure it out.
