He felt concern flicker in his brown eyes when he looked over Cerosi's thicker coat. She wasn't adapted to the warmer climates like he was so she would probably be the most uncomfortable here, at least until she did adapt. He kept his pace where it was comfortable for both mares, letting them stop as necessary to groom or graze. Cerosi's compliment of the Desert made his chest swell with pride as he smiled with gratitude in her direction, eyes twinkling with hope. At the gray mare's question about his herd, he smiled. "It's not very large at the moment but they should be around. I have a lead mare, Geneva, and a Guardian, Harlequin. Zubeia should be around as well. Vihaan is off checking on her family after the war but she should be back soon. I also have two sons running around, Akello and Legolas. They should be further inland."
When he glanced at Nasa, he took in how comfortable she already seemed in the Desert. Seemed he had chosen good by finding an Arabian to offer a home to. She said it would be great to meet his herd, but his brow rose as he studied her tentative features. She seemed so shy and withdrawn. He hoped she would find some friends both in Cerosi and his other herd mares. Meanwhile, he needed to get them to shade and water. He nudged his nose. "Follow me. I'll show you around." He took them to the big oasis closest to the shore first, letting them get refreshment in the clear pool of water while the multitude of palm trees kept out the blistering sun overhead. Only once they had their fill would he step forward to get a drink himself, still sure to give them both space as he drank and licked the excess water from his chin.
"Is there anything you would like to know about me or the Desert?" He offered to the mares, glancing between them curiously.
