She'd been in Tinuvel now a few weeks and to be honest, she was a little underwhelmed. Sure, it was a pretty place and loads different than Paradise. The cooler air as Fall set in got her hyper and she ran around more and explored ten times faster than she did in the heat of the summer. She mostly watched the other horses of the herd and snorted at any who dared to look her way. That was her way of setting the standard, so to speak. One day, she would be their Queen and they needed to look at her as such sooner rather than later. At least, that was her opinion. Better they learn now than have to face the truth later on. Her main problem was with her betrothed, though. Sure, Ironclad was attentive and slept beside her at night so she wouldn't get cold but he was hesitant around her, like he was scared or something. And he liked to wander off. Not just sometimes. A lot.

She watched him a lot too and she could see he was ambitious. She had no problem with that. He was already collecting mares for when the herd was turned over to him. He was kind and attentive to them and showed a little maturity which gave her some hope but then he would come around her again and get all tongue tied and she'd lose her cool. What is it with males? He liked to wander off the island a lot so she took to following him sometimes. It was better than standing around the Inlet glaring at the rest of the herd all day. He went to the mainland to try to gather up other mares mostly, but there was another island he also frequented, Atlantis. When she first saw him headed that way, she got a little giddy, thinking she might catch a glance of her mother or father or even one of her siblings if he was going to Paradise, perhaps to talk to her father about their future or even to get to know her home? Maybe if the colt knew more about her, he could stop playing games and just talk to her, already.

But no, he changed his direction and headed to another part of the island when they got close. Intrigued, Medusa kept her distance, only to find him on the banks of another herd she didn't know much about. When a mare trotted out to meet him, she was puzzled but interested. Was he raiding from this herd? The mare looked confident though, holding herself up high and she reeked of authority. In a way, Medusa admired her. That's exactly how SHE should stand. But the exchange completely distracted her. Ironclad wanted to breed with her? Something about joining their herds together as allies, but there was a look in his eyes that gave her pause and made her own chest tighten, almost with envy. It definitely wasn't anything close to the looks he gave her. No, it was more along the lines her own father gave her mother when they were close, the ones that used to gross her out.

She gasped and backpedaled toward the water again as she realized. He liked her!! Maybe even more than that. Sure, she knew as a lead stallion, he would have feelings for all his mares. It was only natural. Her mother taught her about all that. But there was something more than that in the looks Ironclad gave the blue roan. Like she was his equal. Feeling betrayed and more than a little jealous, Medusa dove back into the waves and made the haste swim back to the Inlet. She was breathing hard when she came up on shore but it was more out of her anger than because of the effort. "How DARE HE!" She screamed as she paced the shore, not caring who heard.
