i'll get under your skin

The voice that greeted her in return was unexpected but her attention was caught, brown eyes sweeping over to the barb mare as she walked from the trees. The smile had her ears pricking forward attentively as she turned to prance closer, not sensing any danger from the other mare. The other gave her name as Shenzi before asking her own and Corona lifted her head proudly as she spoke. "You may call me Corona." This was the first mare she'd met of the herd besides Sayyida and she was excited, her tail swishing at her flanks as she looked over the brown mare. Shenzi wasn't built like the other arabian and akhal teke-style horses that made up the dunes but that only made her more interesting to Corona. Why was she here? She caught the faint scent of Maslakhat on the mare's coat and found herself intrigued. Was the golden bay stallion interested in her? She gave off a warrior's vibe, her body built tough, as if for battle.

Corona wished sometimes that she could bully her way around, but knew her body just wasn't built for such things. This mare, however, probably knew how to throw her weight around. She'd be a good ally to have on her side. When the scent of old blood met her nostrils, Corona tensed, ready for any outside threat, but as her gaze swept over the mare before her, she took in the wounds she was only now seeing. A gasp left her lips as she looked to the mare's throat. "You're lucky to be alive." She whispered, more in awe than anything. The mare told her it looked worse than it is and Corona scowled in answer, her nostrils wrinkling skeptically. "I sure hope so." Shenzi told her not to worry as she made her way to the water and Corona snorted a she stood on the banks of the water to watch. When the mare asked about the healer, Corona could only shake her head. "The last I saw her, she was with a mare giving birth. She should be wandering around somewhere, though. Need me to find her?"

If there was one thing Corona could do, she could fly across the dunes until she caught sight of the slender mare others went to for healing. She had yet to learn the mare's name, but she'd been watching the other herd members enough to recognize a healer. If Shenzi needed help, she could give it to her and make a new friend in this land. Otherwise, she didn't know what other aide she could give the brown mare. She was never much for healing herself.
