Guard duty was frequent when I served in the Army of Occupation in South Korea in 1947. As I recall we had to memorize about ten General Orders and would be grilled on them by the Sargent in charge. Then some clever dude thought there should be one more: "Walk your post in a military manner and take no crap from the Company Commander"! Hope the National Guard members on duty here in Washington, D.C. follow this guidance!
