I needed to thread out how Eden & Bane would interact soooo... hiiii. Closed thread, ty loves

The very scent of her dam on these lands had been enough to cast Eden into the sea. She was still so… so upset. Heartbroken. Angry. Angry over all of the things she probably should have said, or the way she should have been raised-- angry over all of it. Though winter had hung heavily on the Islands, she’d thrown herself into the sea. It was likely only a stroke of luck that kept her in hands that were… safe. Non threatening.

Eden was grateful for the Thicket and its guardian, serving as a safe place to lay her head for the remainder of the winter. The swim there probably shouldn’t have been something she survived to tell the tale of. The swim back? Well, that would have likely taken her out entirely. Eden had spent the winter holed up, trying to keep her head straight. Beau had simply allowed her to be. A guardian and a gentleman, and she didn’t know how to thank him for that.

But it was not to stand. She was not to stay. Eden needed to confront Bane, and she would need to do it in order to find any kind of peace here. If this was going to be her home, she would need to speak with her mother. Could they coexist here? Who knew. Eden didn’t. At the edge between the Peak and the Falls, the mare appeared. There was something intense in the green of her eyes. She knew that her mother could see her, plain as day, from the perch she took within the Peak.

Eden wouldn’t even call.
