Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

You’re not Salinger. Get over it. anne/any

Honestly, when he challenged the Harbor a second time, the sooty colt really didn’t… didn’t know what was going to happen. Really, Frey had been more interested in the fight than actually taking home anything for the win. He wasn’t really sure how the whole thing worked-- challenging for mares, taking them away to live here? Was that just how things were done?

He couldn’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want to live in the Lagoon. The trees kept them warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and the nearby Common and Meadow kept supplying new people for them to meet and see. Things were exciting around here, or at least Frey thought so. Maybe he was still looking at the world through the lens of a child. That wasn’t so bad though, was it? He could hope.

The general’s son stood on the rocky shore of the Lagoon, peering out over the sea in the direction of the Harbor. He’d come to like this spot, really. It was comfortable, and he was able to retreat in the shady cover of the trees if the sun was too hot on his back. The colt was sore from the scrape with Jaskier, but it was the best kind of sore. The sore that’s earned. Frey was becoming stronger by the day, and a better fighter every single time he issued a challenge. Progress over perfection. He could do this.

As he waited for the pretty painted mare, Frey found himself a bit nervous. Would she be upset? He couldn’t hold it against her if she was. Really, he just hoped that she didn’t hate him. This had never been about her, despite issuing two challenges for her… would she even want to get to know him, after that? Frey’s head was starting to storm again. After all this, he hoped that she would like him, though that seemed doubtful. Maybe in time? Maybe in time.
